City 03:17
Well, I've got to admit this is the most beautiful place I've ever seen and it's definately the wildest place I've ever been to. I mean, I've been watching you dance and it's the way you dance that makes me want to dance I never ever dance and you really make me wanna dance and lose my seat and chew some meat and clap the beat to your feet if there's one thing I've learned it's how to treat myself to a treat I've seen the films, I've even flicked through some of the books I won't lie I sometimes identify with the crooks I've got a great big huge confession to make, I've got a big huge confession to make, I've got a great huge confession to make, I've got a great big confession to make : I get bored, really bored at parties get so bored, really bored at parties but this one's OK, it's a tiny bit different, it's got cake with a topping just made out of chocolate Oh dance ! Dance, city, dance ! Oh just dance, dance, dance city dance ! Dance, dance, dance city dance ! This city will not be torn down, this city will not be run down, this city will not be torn down, this city will not be run down. I've got a great big huge announcement to make I've got a great big huge announcement to make I've got a great big huge announcement to make I've got a great big huge announcement to make : This is the best best best best party this is the best best best city party this is the best best best best party this is the best best best city party this is the best best best best party this is the best best best city party this is the best best best best party this is the best best best city party This city will not be torn down, this city will not be run down, this city will not be torn down, this city will not be run down. We will not be torn down we will not be run down we will not be torn down we will not be run down

Smoke 05:47
Well we've got time and sugar spice and spine we've still got a bit more time and nothing on our minds and then there's space a whole heck load of free space we've got skills and symetry to kill and we've got moods and reasons to be crude and girl we've got our bones and psalms and poems of our own and we've got, we've got... We've got nights at nights we'll invade their homes we'll sit and stare and watch them turn to stone we've got... Well... we've got smokes but darling I don't smoke but you can smoke I love to watch you smoke We've got nights at nights we'll invade their homes we'll laugh and stare and watch them turn to stone we've got...

High Moon 03:30
The night came down I crept into your room I wanted to take you away from all of this gloom the moon was high and so was I oh girl, the moon was high and so was I so I opened the door and crept in on all fours my consciousness unconscious of that loud chorus of snores « How high the moon ? How high the moon ? Not as high as I », I started to croon and I hadn't heard the snores but I noticed they'd stopped four in the morning, clanged your grandfather's clock it rang so loud, it startled me to my feet and I discovered the four of you wide awake from your sleep there was you and the guy we met in Montgomery Creek and my sister Jenny's creep with that tattoo on his cheek and last but not least, last but not least, that old chinese chef, whose food no-one eats « How high the moon ? How high the moon ? Not as high as I », I started to scream.

I've been following you the whole day downtown convinced that true love at last I'd found I watch you walk walk walk and stop and talk talk talk To the tall ones, the tiny ones the filthy ones, the uptight ones the rich ones, the lepered ones the abusive ones... everyone except me it's not exactly what I expected Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh I'm starting to think that this love won't last 'cos everytime you walk past me too fast I try to keep up as you walk walk walk and watch you talk talk talk To the big ones, the skinny ones the well-tempered ones, the pretty ones the organic ones, the insane ones the uninvited ones... everyone except me I'm starting to be a little bit disappointed Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh

Kris went out on a cool sunday night he took a dip in the ocean and wished in the pale moonlight he said « All I want is a mermaid, soft, gentle and sweet. unlike all of those wild city girls I always meet. » Kristoffer fell asleep in the sand and awoke at high tide to the sound of a delicate sweet singing mermaid lying by his side the mermaid, delightfully named Jill fed him a wild and savage kiss she dug her nails deep into his skin oh poor Kristoffer fainted from bliss Suddenly five other mermaids joined into Jill's feast they cackled in the night tore Kristoffer apart ripped his frail body wide open chewed on his liver, kidneys and heart what a wild night for Kris a boy so delicate and sweet destroyed by a kiss

Shine 04:33
Waiting at your house as silent as a mouse the night strolls in with a grin and tucks into my skin the smell of moist earth lingers in the room oh mum, I'll howl in the breeze and wail beneath trees that you left centuries too soon Stroke my hair, hold me tight come dance with me and the night Time is a sphere, we have nothing to fear everything plays at the same time so I'll dry out every single tear and I'll climb over those bells and I'll make them chime can you hear them ring ? can you hear us sing ? oh I'll stay right here and dance to the ring in my ears Stroke my hair, hold me tight come dance with me and the night Your love shines above all things that shine and illuminates the dusk oh, your love shines it will always shine and illuminate the dusk oh it'll shine, let it shine, shine and illuminate the dusk there's a light that shines so bright it'll always illuminate the dusk Oh I've seen you shine so bright dancing through the night

about

SWEAT LIKE AN APE ! sont de retour avec leur second album, Dance To The Ring In Our Ears.

NEW NOISE

MUZZART

"Chaque titre est un tube en puissance pour danser sur les pistes et autres lieux du planisphère...Dance To The Ring In Our Ears est un pur brûlot de funk rock groovy qui ne vous lâchera pas dès la première écoute." FOUTRAQUE

"...un tourbillon artistique qui ne ressemble à rien de connu, mais exprime une liberté créatrice aussi délurée que captivante". INDIE MUSIC

ENGLISH VERSION:

SWEAT LIKE AN APE! are back with their second album, Dance To The Ring In Our Ears. 10 new thrilling songs, in which the band has injected a heavier dose of groove and tension. By mingling their colorful post-punk with afro-rock, funk-punk and even free-jazz, these four monkeys have succeeded in making this new record unquestionably more audacious, and even more dancy and fun. Sol Hess' voice is sassier, the guitars are sharper, and the whole set is driven by a pitiless drum and bass that will get you on your feet for a last dance before the end of the world.

Dance To The Ring In Our Ears, released on March 16th on LP, CD, & digital on Platinum Records (Rubin Steiner, Shiko Shiko, Powersolo...

« There isn't a deodorant in the world that will do : you will lose every last drop of water in your body listening to this album ». NEW NOISE

« Every moment of tension is held back, on edge, until the last riff or final groove... This fusion of rage and extasy emerges from the enchanting chords of a guitar without doubt the worthy heir of Jonathan Richman. The moods are varied, the compositions substantial and refined. The battle is as brutal as alluring. » LONGUEUR D'ONDES

«... a furious need to make every rocker too inhibited by his fear of ridicule move his booty. As the worthy successor of it's predecessor, this new album serves a large portion of post-punk mingled with varied influences, joined to the convening power of funk-punk and afro-funk. » MOWNO

Sweat Like An Ape! Bordeaux, France

Sweat Like An Ape ! hails from Bordeaux, France. Their music evolves in that special place where the urgency of punk and the sparkle of pop and dance music cross paths. Although certain new-wave and post-punk influences are unquestionable, these four boys like to mingle with all kinds of groove, be it that of the nigerian king Sir Victor Uwaifo, or the funk-punk of James Chance. ... more
